GRACE

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace is in our name for a reason; grace is the beginning of hope and the reason we worship.  The Grace Place is known for “being the church that lets anyone in” and we are not ashamed of that reputation.  It is God’s grace that saves us, God’s grace supplants us, and God’s grace that sustains us as we live out Biblical community together as one Church.

LOVE

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." - John 15:13
Biblical love is expressed most excellently through the cross of Christ.  It is our job to obediently follow Jesus’ example of self sacrificial love.  Love is the greatest commandment, and the heart behind everything we do.

HUMILITY

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others."
– Philippians 2:3-4
Realizing we can’t do life by ourselves, we encourage a culture of openness as we go through life’s journey. We recognize the need for God’s help and for community. We learn from others’ experiences and knowledge while sharing ours so others may benefit.

UNITY

"For just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other."
– Romans 12:4-5
"I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." — John 17:23

We are a people uniquely called by God to be a catalyst for Christian unity, believing that the division of the body of Christ is hell’s greatest weapon to thwart heaven’s ends in this world. We are convinced that the splintering of the body is not the Lord’s work, but the enemy’s; we believe that hell trembles at the prospect of a people united, redeemed by the blood, and possessed by the Spirit. To this point we reach our hand in fellowship to every blood washed one.  We focus teaching on the essentials of salvation and Christian living. In an effort to unite rather than divide we teach multiple perspectives on doctrinal issues that tend to cause division.

COMPASSION

"When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." – Matthew 9:36
When we view people like God views them, it drives us to love unconditionally and seek to serve them in any way possible. Our hearts should ache for those in need and it should move us to take action.

GENEROSITY

"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." – Acts 2:44-45
"You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully." – 2 Corinthians 9:7

From the beginning of the Church, generosity has been a distinguishing attribute of Christ-followers. It is no different in this community. We believe God has given us everything we have, including hope for our future, so we want to give all we have joyfully and without reservation.
